Happy Birthday Peter Rabbit!

2012 marks the 110th anniversary of the publication of Beatrix Potter's beloved story of The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Throughout this year we will be celebrating this very special occasion with events and special publishing, so watch this space for all the latest birthday news!

Emma Thompson to write The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit!

To celebrate the very special 110th anniversary of The Tale of Peter Rabbit in 2012, a brand new Peter Rabbit story will be written by Oscar-winning actress and screen writer Emma Thompson.

The book, titled The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit, will be the 24th tale in the existing collection of Peter Rabbit stories. It is the first time that the Frederick Warne has published an additional title to the series which Beatrix Potter wrote between 1902 and 1930.

Emma said, "I've always loved Beatrix Potter, as a child and then as a mother and all the years in-between as well. When Mr Rabbit invited me to write a further tale, I was more honoured than I can say. I hope I don't let him or his extraordinary creator down."

The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit will be published on the 6th September 2012.
